Happy October, {{first_name | Steady Hand}},
This month reopens three doors, and it starts by standing still. The Moon in Gemini makes two kind contacts, to Saturn and then Jupiter, then drifts, and nothing new lands. That is the right first day for October: Venus stops on Saturday and spends six weeks re-reading what you want, so whatever you write down today is the version on record. Say the thing early, finish early, and read your October horoscope while the sky is quiet.

HOROSCOPES
Daily Horoscopes for October 1
♈ ARIES (March 21 – April 19)
Structure holds today, and you are the structure. Saturn in your sign gets a friendly contact from the Moon in your communication sector, so the rule you set, the boundary, the deadline, the no, gets said in one sentence and accepted. Say it. Do not add a second sentence explaining the first.
♉ TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)
Habit pays in cash today. The Sun in your daily-work-and-health sector trines the Moon in your money sector, so the task you do without thinking is the one that shows up on the statement. Do that one twice. The clever new thing can wait for a day that rewards clever.
♊ GEMINI (May 21 – June 20)
Suggestions land where you aim them today. The Moon in your sign sextiles Saturn among your friends and allies, and the group takes your idea seriously for once; then it sextiles Jupiter in your communication sector, and the idea grows into a plan. Two contacts, both kind, then nothing: the Moon goes void and the rest of the day is for finishing, not starting. Send the plan before the drift.
♋ CANCER (June 21 – July 22)
Pay has your attention today, and so does the fun thing. Mercury, two days into your romance-and-creativity sector, makes the date, the project, or the child's request a subject of unusually direct conversation. Say the real number for the fun thing. Then stop negotiating; the day has nothing else in it that needs you.
♌ LEO (July 23 – August 22)
Backing arrives from the group today. The Moon sextile Jupiter in your sign from among your friends and allies means somebody in the circle says yes to the bigger version of your idea. Take the yes without renegotiating it upward. Then the Moon goes void, and the rest of the day is for nothing in particular; you have earned nothing in particular.
♍ VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)
Directness works upward today. Saturn in your shared-money sector gets a sextile from the Moon at the top of your chart, so a short message to a senior person about a joint number, a budget, a bill, a settlement, gets a serious answer. Send it before the sky drifts. Three lines, one figure, no apology.
♎ LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)
Confidence comes easily today. The Sun trines the Moon from your sign to your travel-and-belief sector, and for one day what you want and how you feel about it agree, which in your season is not guaranteed. Use the agreement on the faraway thing: the application, the ticket, the call to another time zone. Nothing else in the sky argues.
♏ SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)
Desire has nearly stopped moving. Venus in your sign is all but motionless, and what you want is at its clearest when it is standing still; write it down today, plainly, while it is. Do not act on it. A want that survives being written down is the one to trust.
♐ SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)
Fortune comes through a partner today. Jupiter, your ruling planet, in your travel-and-belief sector gets a sextile from the Moon in your partnership sector, and the other person hands you the contact, the idea, or the ticket you could not get alone. Accept it without negotiating. Say thank you once and mean it.
♑ CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)
Discipline feels natural today instead of enforced. Saturn, your ruling planet, at the base of your chart gets a sextile from the Moon in your daily-work-and-health sector, so the home routine and the work routine finally agree on a schedule. Write the schedule down while they agree. They will not agree forever.
♒ AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)
Travel and play agree today. The Sun in your travel-and-belief sector trines the Moon in your romance-and-creativity sector, so the course, the trip, or the idea from another country turns into something you would actually enjoy making. Make the first piece of it. The first piece is the only one the day asks for.
♓ PISCES (February 19 – March 20)
Household money gets a steady hand today. Saturn in your money sector, still retrograde, gets a sextile from the Moon at the base of your chart, so the number you have been re-checking since spring finally sits still long enough to be planned around. Plan around it. Then the sky goes quiet, and quiet is what your nervous system was asking for.
THRIVE THURSDAY
📅 When to Start What: October's Best Days for Every Routine

If there is a routine you keep meaning to start, or you are just looking for something new to sharpen yourself up, this is when. October has a right day for each one: the Moon picks most of them, the three big turns pick the rest, and two days are for starting nothing at all.
🌬️ Breathe. Today, Thu Oct 1. The Moon goes void in Gemini, the sign that runs the lungs; nothing new sticks today, so do the one thing that does not need to. Twelve slow exhales, then write one sentence about what you want and put it away.
🛏️ Reset your sleep. Fri Oct 2 to Sun Oct 4. The Moon in Cancer with a Last Quarter on Saturday is the month's wind-down weekend. Same bedtime three nights running, phone in another room.
⛔ Start nothing. Sat Oct 3. Venus stops and turns retrograde, and Mars opposes Pluto. Anything begun today gets renegotiated. Rest day.
💪 Strength, or anything with a pulse. Mon Oct 5 to Tue Oct 6. The Moon in Leo meets Mars and then Jupiter, the month's best two days for effort you would be proud of. The heavy set, the dance class, the hill.
🥗 Change one thing you eat. Wed Oct 7 to Thu Oct 8. The Moon in Virgo, still waning, is the routine sign on a subtracting Moon. Remove one thing rather than add three.
🌑 Start the routine you want to keep. Sat Oct 10. The New Moon in Libra is the month's real starting line, and Libra keeps promises made to another person. Pick one routine and tell one person.
🧠 Meditate. Sun Oct 11 to Mon Oct 12. The Moon in Scorpio crosses retrograde Venus and then Mercury, the two planets asking October's questions. Ten minutes of silence, no app; what surfaces is the question.
🚶 Walk farther than usual. Wed Oct 14 to Thu Oct 15. The Moon in Sagittarius, the sign that rules the legs, wants the long route. Take it, and leave the earbuds at home.
🔮 Get a reading. Thu Oct 15. Pluto turns direct after five months and the thing that has been stuck starts to move. Ask SASS Chat what moves for you.
🤝 Join the group thing. Mon Oct 19 to Tue Oct 20. The Moon in Aquarius meets Pluto four days after it turned direct, and Aquarius Moons turn strangers into a team. The class, the run club, the league.
🧘 Yoga. Wed Oct 21 to Fri Oct 23. The Moon in Pisces, the sign that rules the feet, is the last soft Moon before Mercury turns. A slow class and a long savasana; end on the floor.
🚫 Start nothing. Sat Oct 24. Mercury stops and turns retrograde. Rest day two. Re-read instead of writing.
🍽️ Eat slowly. Sun Oct 25. The Full Moon in Taurus rules the throat and the appetite. One meal with no screen; taste it.
📓 Open the sentence. Wed Oct 28. The Moon in Gemini meets Uranus with Mercury retrograde, and what you wrote on the 1st reads differently now. That is the month's report card.
🎃 Feed people. Fri Oct 30 to Sat Oct 31. The Moon is back in Cancer, where the month began, and Cancer rules the home and the stomach. Cook the thing, hand it out at the door, and stay in. October ends where it started: a wind-down weekend, this time with candy.
🚪 October Reopens Three Doors
A retrograde is only interesting if something you thought was settled is standing in the doorway. October has three doors, and all three are the reopening kind. Venus turns retrograde in Scorpio on Saturday, and for six weeks a person, a price, or a decision about what you are worth comes back for a second look. Pluto turns direct on the 15th, and the thing that has been stuck since May finally gives; what was behind it is bigger than you remember. Mercury turns retrograde on the 24th, and a conversation you thought was finished gets reopened, by them if not by you. None of that means anything until you know which house each door is in. That's the reading. Your October Reading maps all three to your actual chart and tells you what is coming back, what is finally moving, and which door you are supposed to walk through.
